The Princess and the Flower

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there was a king who had a only daughter, named Princess Lila. She was beautiful, kind and smart, but she was very sad because she had no friends. The king gave her all the toys and books she wanted, but nothing could comfort her.

One day, as she was walking in the castle garden, she saw a little blue flower that shone in the sun. She approached and saw that it was different from the other flowers. It had petals shaped like hearts, and in the center, there was a little star that sparkled. The princess was amazed and picked the flower carefully.

Immediately, she heard a little voice that said:

- Hello, I am the little magic flower. I can grant three of your wishes, but you have to make them before sunset, otherwise I will lose my powers.

The princess was surprised, but she thought that she had a unique chance to change her life. She thought for a moment, then she made her first wish:

- I wish I had a friend to play and talk with.

- Very well, said the flower. Look behind you.

The princess turned around and saw a little white dog that wagged its tail. It had pink ears, blue eyes and a gold collar. It came up to her and licked her hand. The princess was delighted and took it in her arms.

- Hello, my name is Fifi. I am your new friend, said the dog.

- Hello, Fifi. I am Princess Lila. I am very happy to meet you, said the princess.

They started to play together in the garden, and the princess felt happier than she had ever been.

She then made her second wish:

- I wish I had a beautiful dress for the ball tonight.

- Very well, said the flower. Look in your room.

The princess ran to her room and saw on her bed a splendid dress. It was blue like the sky, with stars embroidered in silver. It had a fitted bodice, a full skirt and a transparent veil. She tried it on and looked at herself in the mirror. She was dazzling.

- You are very beautiful, said Fifi.

- Thank you, Fifi. You are very kind, said the princess.

She finally made her third wish:

- I wish I met the prince of my dreams.

- Very well, said the flower. He will come to the ball tonight.

The princess was impatient and prepared herself carefully. She styled her blond hair in curls, put on some makeup on her green eyes and wore a pearl necklace. She took the magic flower and put it in her hair. She went down to the living room, where the king was waiting for her.

- You are magnificent, my daughter, said the king. You will turn all the heads.

- Thank you, dad, said the princess.

They went to the ball, where there were a lot of people. All the eyes were on the princess, who danced with grace. Among the guests, there was a young man who stood out for his beauty and elegance. He had black hair, blue eyes and a charming smile. He wore a black suit and a blue tie. He approached the princess and said:

- Good evening, miss. My name is Prince Leo. I am the prince of the neighboring kingdom. I came to ask you for a dance.

- Good evening, sir. My name is Princess Lila. I am the daughter of the king of this kingdom. I am pleased to grant you a dance, said the princess.

They took each other by the hand and started to dance. They felt immediately attracted to each other. They looked into each other's eyes and smiled. They talked about everything and nothing, and discovered that they had a lot in common. They laughed and had fun. They forgot the time and the others.

The princess thought that she had finally found the prince of her dreams. The prince thought that he had finally found the princess of his heart.
